LUKE & EMILY DREAMT OF GROWING FIELDS OF FLAVOR
This dream has turned into Lone Mountain Farms, a small diverse farm in North Idaho. You'll find fields of vegetables, berries, hops, and rare grains with a flock of chickens foraging for treats.
We are excited to bring our community fresh produce, farm-craft beer like no other, delicious eggs, stone-milled flour, and beautiful flower bouquets.

Luke has brewed beer since he was 19 and it was just a matter of time before he incorporated brewing into the farm! We grew hops for ourselves and a few select brewers but quickly realized brewing on-farm was in our future.
Lone Mountain Farms is located in a prime location for growing hops and grains. This allows us the unique opportunity to offer estate beers grown and brewed by the same farm. You can truly taste our area's terroir through our farm-craft beer. We even add produce and make creations like Kale Pale Ale, Blackberry Oat Porter and Zucchini Chai Brown.
The hops spring forth like asparagus shoots in early spring and climb their way up to the sky until late summer harvest. We grow over 10 varieties to give diversity to our beer bittering and aroma.
We are always trying out rare and unique grains from all over the world with the quest for the most flavorful grains we can grow. The grains used for our beer are malted by LINC Malt, a farmer co-op right in Spokane, WA.
Our passion lies in historic and European beer styles. These are typically malt forward and carbonated to lower levels than American standards.
The Farm Stand is open so come out to enjoy a pint!
FRESH VEGGIES & BERRIES
Emily can be found amongst her produce all summer long!
Our market garden covers about an acre and produces a wide variety of vegetables and berries. We begin our seedlings in February and finish harvesting in October when the frost sets in and pumpkins are ready for carving.
During the height of the season, the greenhouse is full of tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers, and the fields hold rows of potatoes, kale, zucchini, carrots, beans, lettuce, and many more. We take special care to only provide quality vegetables which means harvesting at the right time, cooling and washing properly, and delivering to you as soon as possible.
We use organic practices but are not certified. This means we use no herbicides or pesticides but instead use our hands and tools to weed and care for the health of our plants. Soil health is also a huge priority to bring nutrients to your food!
We'll have produce available throughout the summer at the Farm Stand!
FARM FRESH EGGS
The Lone Mountain chickens spend their days foraging outside and laying beautiful brown eggs. We started out with 10 hens, just to get our feet wet, and quickly became addicted to raising a flock and enjoying their delicious eggs! Now we're up to 50 hens and one rooster.
Our mix of laying breeds gives us a flock full of color and personality that brings a rewarding element to the farm. As they forage on green grass, clover, and sprouts, their eggs become more nutritious than commercial eggs especially the yolks which become a rich yellow/orange color full of omega-3, vitamin D & E, and more.
Eggs are available year-round. Visit the Farm Stand to grab a dozen!
We are always trying out rare and unique grains from all over the world with the quest for the most flavorful grains we can grow. In a typical year we trial over 30 varieties of wheat, barley, spelt, emmer, einkorn, millet and many others. The best performers go on to be propagated into production in the coming years.
With less than 10 acres currently available, our grain production is focused on small plots of highly unique varieties selected for their flavors. This is then milled into flour or used in our farm-craft beers.
