Covidator / 6-pack Special
Your salvation from isolation is here! The Salvator (Latin for “savior”) style beer has roots as far back as the 14th century. Legend has it that Munich monks brewed this beer for sustenance during the 40 days of Lent. Due to the original recipe’s high alcohol content, 17-18%, and an incident in 1841 in which a mass drunken brawl needed military intervention to quell it, the original recipe was criticized as too strong; this lead to the 1854 recipe that we used for Covidator. Since the name “Salvator” is reserved by a certain Munich brewery, we are following the tradition of other old world Munich breweries by adding the “-ator” suffix. We decided to brew this beer around the start of the outbreak, with the idea that soon in isolation we would need something to help us through it. We hope you enjoy Covidator, our savior from isolation!
